We welcome you to the Men’s ministry and fellowship group at Sedge Garden UMC. We are a chartered member of the “General Commission of United Methodist Men”. Please visit our national organization at  You’ll learn about all of the available programs and activities, and how men everywhere can be connected through this ministry.

Our purpose: United Methodist Men shall be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spirituality and to seek daily his will.”

We meet the first Sunday of each month at 7:00am  for fellowship and a good, old fashioned, breakfast in the Brian Ray Holland Fellowship Hall. Following the meal, we usually have devotions, a business meeting, and a short program. We always wrap up in time so everyone can attend the 8:30am “First Fruits” worship service or attend their next planned activity.

Come and be our guest! You can expect to find warm fellowship, smiles and laughs, discussion, some soul searching, and a great meal! You may even find yourself involved in some of the following activities:

  • Cooking, preparing, and serving BBQ meals for hundreds.
  • Working on a Habitat House (or another building project).
  • Helping a neighbor in need with some chores around the house.
  • Planting, cultivating, and harvesting vegetables in our church garden. All of the produce is donated to ministries helping the needy.
  • Supporting our Scouting ministry and helping with “Wilderness Trail” (a backpacking ministry).
  • Working with our youth and supporting their programs here at SGUMC.
  • Playing golf, fishing with the kids, working around the church, and many more activities in our neighborhood.
  • An occasional men’s Bible study group or other spiritually based program.
  • Joining with other groups at a district event.

In all our activities, we desire to reflect the love of Jesus Christ to everyone. He gave it first, and continues to give it to us freely. We should rejoice in doing the same!

We look forward to greeting you at our next meeting. For additional information, contact the church office at 336-788-2297 or call:
