Our Vision
Why This Matters
Our campus — some buildings dating to the 1940s and 1960s – has served generations of faithful Sedge Garden families. But aging infrastructure now requires our attention. Failing roofs, outdated HVAC systems, and drainage issues threaten the spaces where we worship, learn, and serve together.
This is not just a building project – it's a stewardship commitment to the congregation that will worship here long after us.

Questions
Frequently Asked
Why now? Why is this urgent?
Our flat roofs are original to the 1940s and 1960s construction and are beyond their life expectancy. Active water intrusion is causing structural damage, mold growth, and ceiling damage throughout the campus. Addressing the roof and gutters now prevents significantly more expensive repairs later.
How do I know my gift goes directly to Campus Renewal?
When giving online through ChurchTeams, designate your gift to the Building Improvement Fund All Building Fund gifts are restricted to Campus Renewal projects and reported to the congregation regularly. You can also give by check made out to Sedge Garden UMC with "Building Improvement Fund" in the memo line.
How will progress be communicated?
We will provide regular updates through the Garden Post newsletter, Sunday announcements, and this page. The fundraising progress bar above is updated regularly as gifts are received.
Who is overseeing this project?
The Trustees Committee is leading all Campus Renewal planning and execution, in partnership with Pastor Keith Edwards and church leadership. The full infrastructure assessment is available to any congregation member who would like to review it.
What about Phase 2 – when does that begin?
Phase 2 projects will begin after Phase 1 (roof and gutters) is funded and completed. The order and priority of Phase 2 projects will be determined by the Trustees Committee based on urgency, available funding, and congregational input.
