We believe faith without action isn't faith at all. At Sedge Garden, there are meaningful ways to serve – inside our church family and throughout our community.

Inside the Church

Sunday Morning Roles

From welcoming visitors to leading worship, there are meaningful ways to serve within Sedge Garden every Sunday morning – no experience required, just a willing heart.

Greeters & Ushers

Welcome visitors and members, help people find seats, and create a warm first impression every Sunday morning.

Worship Team

Serve on the contemporary worship band, traditional choir, handbell ensemble, or chamber choir. All skill levels welcome.

Media & Livestream

Run sound, cameras, graphics, or support the live stream team that connects our online congregation each week.

Garden Kids Volunteer

Lead or assist with children's worship and Small Groups for ages 3–5th grade. Safe Sanctuary certification required.

GYM Youth Leader

Walk alongside middle and high school students as a Small Group leader, event chaperone, or mission trip volunteer.

Nursery Volunteer

Provide loving care for infants and toddlers during Sunday services so their parents can fully participate in worship. Safe Sanctuary certification required.

Hall Woodward & Smith Farms Backpack Program

Pack weekend food bags for students facing food insecurity during the school year.

72 children · 7,714 lbs of food

Crisis Control Ministry

Monthly food and essential item donations for families in crisis across Forsyth and Stokes Counties.

931+ lbs donated this year

Blessing Box

Stock and maintain our on-campus food pantry – available to anyone in need at any time, no questions asked.

Shalom Project
 

Assemble red bags with essential items and meals to challenge the cycle of poverty in our community.

Church Garden
 

Help tend our on-campus garden – produce goes directly to local food ministries and families in need.

Care Ministries – People and Community

Caring for our neighbors

Stephen Ministry

Provide confidential, one-on-one Christian care to people in crisis – grief, illness, divorce, job loss, and more. Training provided.

13th year of ministry

Homebound Ministry

Visit homebound members and residential facility residents – delivering flowers, communion, caroling, and care packages.

Year-round visits

Stitches of Love

Knit and sew lap quilts, prayer shawls, fidget aprons, and more for shut-ins, hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice.

700+ items made annually

Project HOPE

Host graduation parties for seniors served by Project HOPE – providing meals, speakers, cap & gown photos, and gift cards.

Annual graduation celebration

Student Scholarships

Support the scholarship committee that awards annual funding to local students pursuing higher education.

$5,000 awarded annually

Blood Drive

Help organize and participate in our annual blood drive – each pint can save up to three lives.

Operation Christmas Child

Fill shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, and school supplies for children around the world through Samaritan's Purse.

Over 57 shoeboxes annually

Toys for Tots
 

Collect toys and gifts for children whose families cannot afford Christmas presents – coordinated with the US Marine Corps Reserve.

Bikes & gift boxes donated each year

UMCOR & Global Missions

Support United Methodist Committee on Relief disaster response and global development initiatives through donations and advocacy.
