Behind every Sunday, every ministry, and every moment of care at Sedge Garden is a dedicated team of people who love this church and this community.
SENIOR LEADERSHIP
I graduated from Mars Hill College and Hood Theological Seminary. Elder in the UMC. I love what I do and the opportunities to help people change and grow spiritually.
When I chill out, I am either listening to vinyl music or running, preferably at Salem Lake. Oh yeah, and playing with the three grandkids.

Amanda Betters
I love leading young people to know Christ through Bible Study, fellowship, and service here at Sedge Garden UMC. Outside of being the Director of Children and Youth ministries, I am a wife to Chad and a Mama to Mia and Corwin! My time is split between homeschool and cheering my kids on as they chase their dreams. I love to read, do puzzles, cook or bake, drink coffee, and play card games with my family. I also have two cats, Crookshanks and Pyroar, and a dog, Sassy, that I love very much and probably spend an unnecessary amount of time snuggling!

Dr. Chad Betters
"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." I am blessed to work alongside my wife Amanda and lead our youth to personal relationships with Jesus. Outside the church, I am a Professor and Chair of a Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Catawba College. I am Dad to Mia and Corwin, and enjoy training karate, working out so I can keep up with the youth, and coaching Little League. Any free time usually involves dating Amanda, watching baseball games and movies from the 1980's, and eating Asian cuisine.

Tommy Holder
Though I do pray, most of my conversations with God are thru song. God is my comforter but I get so much joy and stress relief thru making music. My whole family leans heavily on music and we are proud to share that with Sedge Garden United Methodist Church.
Director of Traditional Music
Cindy Darden
Cindy has a deep commitment to glorifying God through choral singing. She is passionate about providing excellence, quality worship, and community as she leads the Chancel Choir and congregation from the piano and organ. She holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in music and is also on staff at Wake Forest University as a collaborative pianist. She enjoys time with friends and family, particular her three grandchildren Mack, Rose and Hope.

Anne White
I am dedicated to serving our church through Sunday small group teaching garden kids with my husband and supporting outreach via senior visitations. Through my involvement in Stephen Ministry, cereal drives, caroling, and meal programming, I have learned that impactful service is rooted in building lasting relationships. I can always be found planning a fun activity for our Golden Agers, arranging a sewing session for stitches of love or planning a trip to Williamsburg.
